What Are The Promises of God?
The Holy Bible records the Word of Almighty God in its’ written form – providing an error-free road-map to help our Father’s children make the journey through life. The Bible contains 66 books in total, written by over 40 different authors across more than 1,400 years; with scriptures gathered together from writings in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek.
We believe The Holy Bible (KJV in English) is the absolute authority, above and beyond all other translations of the original text and when translated in 1611, was supernaturally inspired by The Holy Spirit.
Followers of Jesus Christ accept The Word of God as The Truth and believe The Holy Bible allows all born-again believers to uncover many of the secrets that God has hidden for them within the scriptures.
Many of these secrets come to us as promises from God. It is estimated there are more than 30,000 promises contained with The Written Word of God.
These promises are His Word – which He stands behind – and are given to us freely to help us overcome some of life’s challenges, make decisions about the choices we face, and live our lives according to our Heavenly Father’s plan. God’s promises to His children teach us much about our Heavenly Father.
God’s promises reveal;
- His eternal purpose
- His nature
- His character
- His love
- His power
- His mercy
- His forgiveness
The promises God has made are, however, conditional; we must remain obedient to Him to receive all that He has promised us.
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. – John 15:7 KJV
Only believe (follow Jesus Christ with obedience and love) and you shall receive all that God has promised you!
We learn from our father’s promises, that;
- He is unchanging
For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. – Malachi 3:6 KJV
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. – James 1:17 KJV
- He has the power to fulfill His promises
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. – Isaiah 55:11 KJV
And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. – Romans 4:21 KJV
- He is trustworthy
In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; – Titus 1:2 KJV
God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? – Numbers 23:19 KJV
